The latest findings further revealed that the HECT domain-containing ubiquitin E3 ligase HUWE1 was also an underlying protective modulator that could combat ferroptosis and abnormal iron accumulation by diminishing the amassing of TfR1, reducing the risk of ALF (Wu et al., 2022)
