Hansons award winning photographs of Newfoundland and Labrador are well known and have been published in numerous books. A native of Copenhagen, Hansen moved to St. John's in 1968 to work at Memorial University. He retired as manager of photographic services in 1988, but continued to take photographs in outports and isolated corners of Newfoundland for many years. Memorial University gave
